Hi there,
I have a password setup for 1PW mini but I honestly don't know where it came from anymore or whether/where I can change it. It is not the same as the master password (is that supposed to be so?).

I think you may need to explain the problem a little more fully. 1P mini is basically a front end for the main application so I'm not sure how you can have a separate password for it which is not your master password. Is it possible you have two versions of 1P4 on your machine? Are you using Dropbox or iCloud to sync?

    Hi Stephen,
I'm not using either option to sync. Frankly I'm quite new to 1Password, I only got it a few days ago. When I open the app I enter the master password. This is working as expected. When clicking the button of the browser extension it asks for the master password as well. However, it's not the same password as for the regular app. Luckily I remember setting that password (just not how/where), so I can access everything fine. Still, there are two different passwords here that are both being called master password.

Do you have just one 1Password key icon showing in your browser?

As far as I can see, yes.

I am at the moment completely baffled as to how you have managed to have two master passwords (one apparently for the main app and a different one for the mini) with only one version of 1P4 which is not synchronised with anything! One final desperate thought...you don't still have 1P3 on your machine do you?

Nope, 1P4 is the only version I purchased!

    Edit: I have an idea.
I purchased 1P4 from the mac app store, I somewhere read that his can be a cause of error, too. However, before I purchased, I downloaded the trial from the agile bits website. I think I may have set the password that is now 1P mini's password as the master password of that trial version.

When I decided to purchase 1P4 I killed the trial version and purchased the full version from the Mac app store, because I still had some money from itunes gift cards to spare.

So It seems to me that I now have two versions running simultaneously (as you said). This would also explain why the logins that 1P mini saves do not carry over to the main app.

    Now, how to fix this??

Aha, that's helpful, thanks! You need in that case fully to dispose of the trial version and I suspect you've not done that. Here's a knowledge base article that ought to help you. (Although it refers to moving from the beta version to the MAS version what you did was effectively the same thing, so it should apply.) I hope that helps.
