Lost some passwords on upgrade

Hi,

I was using 1password 3 for a long time, on both my mac and the iOS version. I recently decided to upgrade since I kept getting warnings about it. Unfortunately when I went to back it up before doing so, opening the 1password app told me the file was corrupted and needed to be redownloaded (even though the safari plugin worked fine--that's what I always used). I checked my iPad password list, and it seemed to be up to date as far as I could tell, so I assumed everything was up to date through dropbox syncing (which I have set up). So I went ahead and installed 1password4, in the process deleting 1password 3 (both on my computer and in safari). Now that I'm using it, I've realized that at least 1 of my passwords isn't there anymore. Am I out of luck, having deleted 1password 3? Or does anyone know of any poking around I could do to try and find it?

The upgrade should have seamlessly migrated your vault to the new filetype if I've understood correctly. Certainly all I did when I moved from 1Password to 1Password 4 was download the new application. Very weird if one of your logins has disappeared. Is the missing login present on your iPad? If it's at least on your iPad you can breathe a sigh of relief but I won't make a suggestion here for fear of giving bad advice - the experts will be able to tell you how to ensure synchronisation without messing anything up. What might be worth checking though is if there any other differences between your iPad and your new 1Password 4, if you vaguely remember what the last couple of things you added or changed were you can see if they both hold the same information.

    Hi @dtamayo,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some issues with the migration. Unfortunately, due to the design of 1Password 3, it was possible to have some Logins stored in the extension that were not properly synced to the main app. We've fixed this issue in 1Password 4 by ensuring that the main app and the extension both directly access the same database. This does mean though, that if you deleted the 1Password 3 extensions without first checking that things were synced up, then you may be missing a Login or two.

I am curious to know though, if the Login in question is still present on your iPad. If so, then we've got a disconnect in sync happening somewhere. Please let me know, and we'll work on that. :)
