Need password history for any type of item

I have read through multiple discussions regarding password history. However it seems as though the option is only available when the item is a login. If I have an item as a password, like for a software needing password to open, how do I update the password while still maintaining the history?

    Hi @Devon,

    Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts here. You're right, currently Logins uniquely have the password history option. For software programs that require a password to open, you have a few options for maintaining password history: you could store this password information in a Login, or you could store previous passwords in a note field within the entry that you are storing the password in.

    May I ask how you are choosing to organize these passwords currently?

    Hi Megan,

    I am actually creating two records. One is a software category and the other is the login for that software. It is working but I prefer 1 record. Thanks for your feedback.
