Three Login Items Lost

I understood browsing through the discussions that you need to save manually non typical login items, that is really not ideal but i will do that next time.

But I wonder why change something that was working fine previously? I could save with no manual intervention multiple items under a login section and now I can only have two?

But the biggest issue is that I have lost all logins I had saved previously in a three or more login items format and that is seriously wrong for a password manager.... thankfully I had those items on a piece of paper... but that by default is a "DON'T DO IT" practice.

Or am I using the application wrongly?

    A bit of a hassle (I see there is a thread elsewhere about the desire for a selective restore) but back up your current vault and make a copy of that backup somewhere safe. Then restore to a previous point in time when you know you still have your missing items, copy them and after reverting back to the actual current you can add them back in. Now I believe that will work but it isn't something I've had to do myself.

    Not sure what you mean by two and three login items format though but the above should work regardless.

    Remember that if you use the password generator and the password you generate is not saved to a specific login you should find it in the Passwords category. I appreciate that may not help you but it's sometimes useful to know.

    Hi @mostello,

    I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble here. However, I'm not quite sure that I'm understanding your situation correctly. It sounds like 1Password might not be grabbing all necessary information for certain Logins. If this is the case, please do let us know which sites you are having trouble with so that we can do some investigating.

    Have you checked these Logins' web form details? Although 1Password will only display the standard 'username' and 'password' at the top of the entry, all details that 1Password uses to fill in web forms are saved in the web form details. Are your missing details tucked safely in there perhaps?

    Hi Megan,
    thanks for your reply.

    You can check this website for example https://ideal.dbs.com/

    It is a Bank Website that requires a three items login. Previously 1password was handling it correctly with no issues. Since the new version cam in it does not handle the three login it times anymore and even if i enter the third item manually it will not fill it in when i request the software to do so.

    The worst part was that i actually lost the third login item from the database entirely like it never existed. Thankfully I had a paper copy of it but it could have been otherwise and in that case it would have been a serious problem.

    @mostello‌

    I've just tried that URL and I can get 1Password to save all three pieces of information (fake for me obviously) and then enter them correct (as far as I can tell). Now when you look at the login item it seems to be missing a piece of information but it's actually hidden in the web form details so in my case I'd probably go back and edit the login item so the 'missing' piece is recorded somewhere a little better than just there. What I would say is I created my login item by going to the page, entering the information for the three fields manually (cut and paste from 1Password would be fine) and then saved the login item from the 1Password extension.

    For the likes of Megan to help you, you might need to supply some details on browsers, extension versions etc. if that still isn't working for you. Why you're experiencing missing information I'm not sure.
