Sync problems, with Google Drive
Good Morning,
I exported a database of 1Password and I have uploaded to Google Drive.
Later on 1Password on another computer I went to import all the exported data but 1Password does not recognize the file format.
Is a problem of 1Password or Google Drive?
The synchronization of Google Drive is important because we are a Web Studio.
Who can help me?
Thanks.
Matteo

Hi Matteo ( @matteodanti ),
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble keeping synced up with 1Password right now. Unfortunately, Google Drive is not currently a supported sync option. I'd be happy to help you as much as I'm able, but because we don't test with this sync solution at this time, there may be a few things that don't work perfectly.
First, I'll need a bit more detail about the steps that you are taking here: Are you exporting your data (and saving it to a .1pif or a .csv formatted file) or syncing your data, using Folder Sync?

Hi Megan @Megan,
As a .1 pif file formatted.0 -
Hi @matteodanti,
Please note that a .1pif file is not encrypted, so you'll want to be very careful about where you store that, and be sure to securely delete it after you are done importing it.
You should be able to import this file into 1Password 4 by using the File > Import menu option. Is this not working?
Please note that this is not going to keep your data in sync. If you would like your data to be continually kept in sync, you will need go to Preferences > Sync and select Folder Sync. Then select a location on your Google Drive. 1Password will sync your database in 1Password.agilekeychain format to that location, which can then be read by other computers with 1Password installed.
If you'd like some more detailed instructions, please provide me with a bit more information about your 1Password ecosystem:
- What are the version numbers of 1Password and your operating system for all computers and devices running 1Password?
- Do you have multiple vaults enabled?
This will allow us to create instructions specific to your situation. :)

Hi Megan @Megan,
I made the synchronization with Preferences > Sync and select a folder sync on Google Drive.
The file 1Password.agilekeychain is correctly save but also I can not upload it. The file is not clickable just, like a file not recognized.
The two versions are 4.4.1 and the operating system is equal Mountains Lion.0 -
Hi @matteodanti,
Once you have set up folder sync to your Google Drive directory, Google Drive should automatically upload your 1Password.agilekeychain. Could you confirm if you're seeing this file on your other Mac? In case you're not, please make sure Google Drive is running on both of your Macs.
If you're able to see the 1Password.agilekeychain uploaded and you don't have any new data on your other Mac, please follow this guide to reset 1Password 4. Now, launch 1Password 4, select "I've used 1Password before" and point it to the 1Password.agilekeychain in your Google Drive. Let us know if that works! :)
