WIFI Sync Prioritization

Ended up writing this in an email until I realized posting here may be more effective.

I've recently upgraded from 1Password3 to 1Password4 on my IMac, IPhone, and IPad. I prefer wifi sync above all others. When syncing, however, I can't designate which source (ie my Mac or my Ipad) is the primary one for the sync. Specifically I like to make all my password updates on my IMac computer and then sync those updates to my IPhone and IPad. In the previous versions, when syncing, 1Password would prompt you manually if there were discrepancies and ask which one it should use. 1Password4 doesn't seem to do that.

The result is that after spending an hour on my IMac changing and updating passwords, the minute I sync it to my Ipad, it reverts to all the old information from my Ipad.

What am I doing wrong?

It really shouldn't do that if I understand correctly. Try checking that the time and date settings on all your devices are correct, it's about the only reason I could think of why it would believe old details on one device seem newer than another but that one is a doozy. Given you like to have a primary machine where you make alterations, you could try wiping the iPhone and iPad and have them sync a fresh copy of the entire vault - see if it continues this behaviour after that?

If you're lucky, you may have a backup on the iMac with all your alterations intact but that might depend a lot on how soon after making the changes you tried to sync your devices.

I don't think it does but what might be nice is if 1Password detects sweeping changes to a vault that it takes that opportunity to backup the current one, a bit like how Windows will create restore points for serious changes.

    Hi @mav1nav‌

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having trouble keeping things synced up via Wi-Fi. It does sound to me like a case of your time and date settings being off (as @littlebobbytables‌ suggested.) If everything matches up there, please let me know and we'll investigate further!
