Changing Users

I have my own username/password for 1Password, so does my boss. I recently got his computer when he got a new one and can't figure out how to switch users from his account to mine. Can someone please tell me how do do this? I need all of my logins, not his. Thanks!

Hi @catgat,

The best way would to be to set up your own user account on that computer and then set up your data on there as if it were your old computer, instead of using your boss' old user account. (Note, by user account I mean the account for the entire computer, not 1Password).

In fact, you can even import your user account from your old Mac over to the new Mac using Migration Assistant in Finder > Applications > Utilities.

If that is not an option, I can help you reset 1Password, but I need to know whether you have the Mac App Store version, or if you downloaded and purchased directly from our website.

I've got a similar but different issue. My virtual assistant recently got replaced by a new one. How do I set up a new 1P user and allow my new assistant access to all the 1P data I have in a particular 1P Vault? Do I just share the Dropbox URL to that .agilekeychain file?

@chenger I would share the folder that has the agilekeychain in it, instead of the agilekeychain itself. We have a guide to walk you through it.
