Safari extension not working

After going to Mavericks 10.9.5 and Safari 7.1 I've lost my 1Password extension. I checked the box to enable the extension in preferences, but I get the following error when I try to use the extension after downloading from your site:
"There is no application set to open the URL onepassword4-extension://activate/Safari."

    I'm sorry that you are having some trouble, @jaycook‌. Let's get things back up and running for you. It sounds like you already made sure that the 1Password extension is enabled in Safari, so that's good.

    I'm wondering if the message persists after a restart of your Mac. If so, can you tell me which specific versions of 1Password and the 1Password extension you have installed?
