I installed 1Password 5. How do I uninstall 1Password 4?

I upgraded to Yosemite and 1Password 5. But 1Password 4 mini is still in my menu bar (along with 1Password 5 mini). How do I uninstall 1Password 4 without messing up my 1Password 5 set up?

The same happened to me, but after I quit all 1Password mini processes in Activity Monitor and started 1Password again, then now it works fine.

  • Thanks for chiming in here, @Samnang Chhun‌. That should indeed work. Restarting the Mac should also do it.

You can take care of that by simply deleting the 1Password 4 app from /Applications (if it's even still there), emptying the trash, then rebooting.

    Hope this helps.

I upgraded my MacbookPro from 1Password 3.8.21 to 1Password 5, and am running Yosemite. I have both 1Password applications on my mac and cannot get rid of the 1Password 3 application. Can you help??? Dragging it to the trash does not work. Using the launch pad to delete does not work.

Go here and download the uninstaller from the link on the page then run it.

If the uninstaller doesn't work @rjb_CANP‌ that link Stephen_C posted also includes the instructions for manually removing it.
