I have just installed Yosemite on one of my two machines and installed 1Passsword 5 on it as well. When loading for the 1st time it said that it had found a password file in my dropbox folder created by 1Password 4. At this point it has crossed my mind that if I proceed is it going to upgrade the password database to some format which is no longer backwards compatible with my Mavericks / 1Password 4 machine ?

    @davegarratt‌

    You are fine to proceed. The database is compatible with the following version of 1Password 3, 4, and 5.

    The only thing to remember is if you add some data from 1Password 5 for example and 1Password 4 was never built to read that data. It will not be show inside 1Password 4. Its still present in the database. Its just 1Password 4 cannot read the data as it doesn't know it even exists.

    This is usually things like secondary urls etc

  • Hi guys,

    @davegarratt‌, there is no format change for 1Password 5, it's the same as 1Password 4. The agilekeychain format is not likely to receive any more updates as we're working hard on a brand new OPvault format instead.
