How do some of you Mac experts have your cookie settings?
When I first started using 1Password, I had a cookie setting that was preventing the program from working very well. When I changed the setting to a less restrictive one, 1Password worked well. Now, if I want to delete cookies at all, I have to do it manually. Is this important? I would like to know how some of you deal with cookies and any other security or privacy settings that may make 1Password harder to use. I'm just getting started

It probably rather depends on the browser you use. For example, I use Firefox with a careful combination of the Ghostery add on (which I very much like) and the Self-Destructing Cookles add on (which allows me to choose how long I wish to keep cookies for individual sites). One reason I dislike using Safari is that I've never found a way for such finely tuned control of cookies using that browser.
I definitely suffer from cookie allergy. ;)

For me, because of 1PW and the Apple Keychain - I use Clear all History in Yosemite many times a day. Logging back into sites is a snap with 1PW or Keychain and I don't have to worry about managing cookies. Toss'em.
I too tried to manage Cookies in the past and found it to be like pushing a wave back into the ocean. Now just delete them constantly, They are a necessary evil for just using websites, not just secure ones. Websites want their ad data control. Doesn't mean I have to keep or help them. Or manage plugins.

I just cleared my history in Yosemite and tried to log in to my 1Password sites. One would not allow me to log in. I have run in to this problem before. Also, two others reverted to asking me questions so they could recognize my computer. I.e., tossing the cookies caused log in problems. Wonder what settings you are using that allows you to delete cookies without encountering the same problems?

I have used an app on and off over the years to help maintain my cookies and remove certain ones at specific times as well as keep others. I have used it since it was a very young app and freeware. Its now available in the Mac App Store and some of you may find it useful.
Its called simply Cookie

Hi @jazzman,
I'm glad to see that @thightower was able to find something for you! Unfortunately, we can't really recommend any third-party software for dealing with cookies, and the program that is mentioned above isn't something that we have tested ourselves, so we can't say much here.
Personally, I haven't run into many issues with cookies, so I do hope that the issue you encountered was an anomaly
If you do decide to give the program a try, we'd love to hear how it works for you!
