1Password 5 only available for OSX 10.10? [Yes, legacy versions available on our website]

Tried to purchase 1Password for Mac today from the AppStore. Was told I need OSX 10.10 (Yosemite) for this. Really?

Same issue trying to download directly from the website. It seems odd to me that a version of the product that supports 10.9.5 or earlier is not available. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong places. 1password has been around a while so I'm sure there is a version that supports those of us that don't want to be on the bleeding edge of Mac OS. Where might I find that?

The Mac App Store should offer you the version that is available for your OS ? Those on Yosemite should be offered version 5 + and Mavericks should be version 4.

The website does indeed have downloads available for version 4. To access them go to the downloads page and look near the bottom for the legacy section.

This is unfortunately not the case: app store offers on my mac ( osx 10.9.5) only 1password version 5.0.2 :\ . I would still like to purchase 1password under mavericks
    Any proposal?

  • Hi @dan779 and @Boris973,

Unfortunately the Mac App Store doesn't allow us to make the older versions of 1Password available to users running the older operating systems. They only allow us to make 1 version available to everyone, so that means it has to be the latest version.

Fortunately...this doesn't mean you can't get 1Password. It just means you can't get it through the Mac App Store. You can download it directly from our website's download page. You just need to make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page where there are links to downloads for Mavericks (currently version 4.4.3).

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Rick
