Can a license for version 5 also be used for version 4?

I have one Mac on Yosemite and another on Mavericks. Everything is working fine between the two using trials of versions 4 and 5. If I purchase a license for version 5, can I also use that license for version 4?

    Hi @brwillis‌ I believe it should. Even if I'm mistaken and it requires our hand in the matter that is something we will do for you. Now we have no influence over the Mac App Store (as that is Apple's exclusive domain) but I can confirm as a MAS user myself that if you purchase and install on a Yosemite machine it will offer you the last compatible version if you attempt to download 1Password on a Mavericks one (as long as both use the same Apple ID).
