Upgrading from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5

Why is there no longer a contact email address any where on the website?

Can you provide clarity on the the emails, website and forum on upgrading from Mac V4 to V5? Supposedly it is free. However, I found out it is not free on the Apple site. I could not find anywhere (easy) on how to get the free upgrade. So I guess I have donated to the cause for this upgrade....

    The upgrade from 1P4 to 1P5 is definitely free if you bought 1P4. 1P5 will be offered only if you are running OS X Yosemite: are you?

    Yes I am running Yosemite and the app works great as usual.

    I'm so glad to hear that the app is working great for you, although I do apologize that the upgrade process was a bit difficult for you.

    I just wanted to confirm what @Stephen_C said above. The upgrade from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 is a free upgrade, but it will only apply to the originally purchased version. For example, if you originally purchased 1Password 4 from the AgileBit webstore, you are entitled to a free upgrade to version 5 via the webstore. Simply use the 'Check for Updates' option in 1Password once your OS is upgraded to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite). If you purchased 1Password 4 from the Mac App Store, you'll see 1Password 5 as an update in the App Store once you've upgraded your Yosemite.

    Please provide an email address to resolve issues!!! I have Yosemite and have upgraded to 5.0.2.. I purchased through the apple app store.... when I ask for the license to be resent it says you don't have my email on file... Why is there no longer a contact email address any where on the website?

    If you purchased from the Apple Store, your license is handled by Apple and is tied to the Apple ID you used when you made your purchase. In such a case, there is no license to be resent by AgileBits. That would only apply if you bought your license from the Agilebits web store.

As @hawkmoth says, we have no record of purchases made from the Mac App Store, simply because Apple doesn't provide us with that information - your purchase is tied to your AppleID.

    If you provide a bit more detail about where things are getting tangled up for you, we can get this straightened out in no time. :)
