Possible to improve the "fill rate" when using Identities?
I have created several identities - one for my private life, one for work related business, one for my grandmother (when doing business for her), etc. The problem is that I find that creating these identities does not return much value. Except for reference/lookup. The problem is with the plethora of different ways of creating form fields and the naming used, I would guess. For instance is the following email field not filled in when using an identity:
Is there some way we could improve the hit rate when 1Password tries to fill the fields? Say, adding a list of different identifiers that would relate to email. Perhaps you could even use these user-added data to improve the general product (given permission, of course).

Hi @fatso83
If you can supply the URL for your example I can ask the devs to take a look at it. It may be quite possible to enhance it but I'm not qualified to say simply because I have yet to delve into the code and see how it works. Certainly it seems a reasonable enough request

Hi, there. I was never notified by email, so I never saw your reply. I actually don't remember what page this is from, but it's really one out of hundreds other like it. And although this one is Norwegian, other English language sites also don't perform all that well usually. I could add each url I come upon that won't autofill more than my password in the contact detail section, but I think it will be abit futile :)
It would be cool if it was somewhere documented a little on what heuristics or html attributes the 1Password extension looks for when trying to fill out the forms, as that could perhaps be used to improve the sites themselves. I am guessing that you actually probably use some basic word token matching heuristics most of the time, which could explain why the hit rate is as low as it is.

Hi @fatso83,
I'll see if I can encourage those behind all of the filling magic to document some of it but I can't make any promises. Documenting even part of it may result in an overly dense tomb impenetrable to the typical user. The reason for that is it does have to be complex to handle the wide variety of sites out there making an easily digestible document potentially tough if it's to be descriptive.
I would still be curious in even a small example of sites you're having trouble with, just because you stated "don't perform all that well usually" and later "why the hit rate is as low as it is". Certainly we've always had difficulties with financial sites but that's mostly due to the requirements in gaining accounts to test with. Outside of that we have a pretty good success rate, or at least seem to based on my experiences and the fact that the forums are not constantly flooded with filling issues.
All of this will change soon though as the filling logic has been completely rewritten recently. It's in the betas at the moment but will hopefully be making a public appearance soon. It might be worth waiting to see if the new filling logic works better for you

Usually in a long list of details it will fill the given name (First name) right, and usually also email. Often it mistakes address fields, and puts the email address into the address field or vice versa. Looking forward to the update!
