(Webstore license) What happens if I save my sync folder in my iCloud folder?
I just realized that I couldn't use iCloud sync, but I am given the option to save my file in a specific folder. What happens if I save my sync folder on my iCloud folder? (Would I not get the same functionality, or am I missing something?) Also, where are my back ups saved, and can I change the location of my backup files?

I figured this out, but it was too late to delete my question. (Posting answers incase someone else comes along and has the same questions)
It is possible to put different file types on iCloud sync, however there is no way for 1password to access them (with out a bit of trouble). If one just places the save file in the iCloud folder, nothing will appear on iCloud.com. (Therefore, there is no functionality)
Go to "File" and then click on the "Backup..." button. This will pull up your backup list and there will be a button to the left that says "Show Files." Click this to take you to the finder location.
I would not change the location of the files, but i think that you can make an alias of the file. Also, there is a back up file saved when you put your sync data on dropbox or iCloud.

As you've discovered there's a difference between iCloud Sync which uses the CloudKit framework and files that exist on iCloud Drive.
I suppose if all you're trying to keep in sync are copies of 1Password for Mac then you could use iCloud Drive but by using the CloudKit framework we have Apple's code work for us in terms of synchronising and potential conflicts. Using iCloud Drive could be fine but it would be "at your own risk" kind of situation.

Thanks for the reply little bobbytables. Yeah, I figured that it would be an "at your own risk" kind of deal. I ended up going back to dropbox.

Hopefully Dropbox will serve you well
