Sync between two iMacs
I have 1Password set up on two iPhones and two iMacs. However, one of the iMacs - the one used less frequently - is not updating password information along with the main iMac and the phones. How can I get this to talk with the other devices?

How are you trying to sync, and what versions of 1PW do you have?
An obvious possibility is that the Mac has just not been set up for syncing.

Hi @surffresno
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble keeping things synced up. As @danco mentions, in order to get this sorted out, I'll need to know a little bit more about your 1Password ecosystem:
- What are the version numbers of 1Password and your operating system for all computers and devices running 1Password?
- What are you using to keep things in sync?
The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)

Hello, Megan. I'm having the same issue as surffresno. My main iMac is using 1Password 5.0.2 and syncing via dropbox. My iPad and iPhone are using the latest iOS 1P and syncing via dropbox. My second iMac is using 1 Password 5 web store and is syncing via dropbox. The secondary Mac has several user accounts set up on it, none of which are in my name, while the main Mac is set up in my name. Will this effect where the dropbox backups are stored?

HI @PERoss14
With Dropbox you have to set it up per user account on OS X. So User A can't see or interact with User B's Dropbox files. It means they can all have their own separate Dropbox accounts.
I'm assuming your main iMac and your iOS devices are syncing okay. Is it that you want to set up a specific user account on your secondary Mac or that you want all the accounts to be able to view your vault?

I have an iMac, a Mac Air, and an iPhone. I sync the iPhone and iMac using wi-fi, and the iMac and laptop using drop box. Can I sync all three using wi-fi?

Hi @Cal
The following response assumes at least 1Password 4 or greater on all of your devices/machines.
Not easily no. At the moment Wi-Fi Sync is between a single Mac and multiple iOS devices. You can use your iPhone as a bridge, manually syncing first with your iMac and then switching it to your MacBook Air. Personally I wouldn't recommend it though but that is my personal preference. In situations like this I'd say Dropbox is your best bet for hassle-free syncing. Depending on the version of 1Password on all of your devices you could also consider iCloud but we'd need to know what you're running where to say if it's an option.

On my iMac and laptop I'm running OS X 10.10.1, on the iPhone iOS 8.8.1. 1Password 5.0.2 on iMac and laptop, and latest iOS 1Password on iPhone.
Thank you.

Hi @Cal,
As @littlebobbytables says, currently to sync multiple Macs with your iOS devices, you will need to use the iOS device as a bridge. It's possible, and we're working on making Wi-Fi sync even more robust for users in the future.
I'm curious - if you're already using Dropbox to sync your Mac and laptop, is there a reason you're not using this sync for your iOS devices as well?

Not really. Thanks for asking the question. I'll give it a try.
