Can't we get file-sync via iTunes back?
Sorry, but WiFi-sync worked one time, after that nothing, "Connection refused", staring at the "Cancel" button for five minutes and giving up.
Maybe it's just me, but file-sync worked like a charm (iTunes still copies the file but 1P on iOS seems to ignore it).
I tried the usual "voodoo", all versions are the latest available, but I got the Website-version of 1P on my Mac.
10.10.1/8.1.1
Please? I feel much safer being in control by using a cable, by the way.
Thanks in advance,
Erik

Hi Erik ( @ErikKeller ),
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with sync lately. At this time, I don't believe we don't have any plans to reinstitute iTunes file sharing. 1Password 5 for iOS's backup and restore functionality works much the same way that iTunes file sharing used to work, with the benefit that the backups created on iOS are compatible with the backup and restore functionality of Mac.
So, let's see what we can do to get Wi-Fi sync working for you. Since you don't mention which voodoo methods you've already tried, I'll start with the basics: ensure that there is nothing blocking communication between your iOS devices and your Mac.
- Do you have any firewalls or proxies installed and active? If you do, localhost (127.0.0.1) will need to be allowed.
- If you have Sophos installed, we have an article that will walk you through the process of ensuring that 1Password can properly communicate: Configuring Sophos
- Are your devices all on the same Wi-Fi network?
If none of these tips help, please let me know a bit more about where things are getting tangled up for you. It would also help to have the precise version numbers of 1Password on all your devices.

Hi Megan,
That's what I meant with "voodoo" ;-)
- Tried with firewall switched off
- All devices on the same network
- I do not use Sophos (or any other automatic scanner for that matter)
- Permissions repaired after update to 10.10.1
- Mac rebooted
- iPhone rebooted
1PW iOS: 5.1.2
1PW OS X: 5.0.2Started syncing -> "Receiving" -> nothing happens for five minutes -> cancel -> new entries are not on the phone
Just in case, I restored the iPhone from an older iPhone running iOS 6.x, the app was replaced during the restore automatically.
Thanks for looking into this,
Erik

Mea culpa!!!! I'm so sorry, I misunderstood how the wifi-sync is supposed to work. I always tried to initiate the sync by using the sync-settings and tapped on "start sync". I was distracted this time and had both programs unlocked and the sync just happened.
So in a nutshell, by trying to sync "by hand" I got the "cannot connect to socket" error because I was actually interfering with the sync process.
Again, I'm so sorry.
Thanks,

Hi @ErikKeller
I'm glad to hear your fight with Wi-Fi sync is (hopefully) at an end. Automatic Wi-Fi sync is a fairly new addition based on customer requests.
Let us know if you have any new or continued issues with syncing, hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from now on though.
