Upgrading to 3.8.22

I currently have 1Password 3 (Family) version 3.8.21 running on Mac OS X 10.9.5. I've tried to upgrade to 3.8.22. It downloads and tries to extract but I receive an error message (an error occurred while extracting the archive. Please try again.) I've tried multiple times but still can't upgrade.

I recently purchased a new MacBook Air running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and 1Password 5.0.2. What's the best way to keep my passwords sync'ed? Is iCloud the only solution?

    Hi @rmbeall432‌

To upgrade to 1Password 3.8.22, please try this:

    • Fully quit 1Password
    • Get a fresh copy of 1Password 3 from our downloads page - scroll to the bottom for the 'Legacy' versions
    • Drag this new copy to the /Applications folder and replace the existing one

To sync between 1Password 5 and 1Password 3, you'll want to use Dropbox. iCloud sync only became an option in 1Password 4, and it does require that you use the copy of 1Password purchased from the Mac App Store. Dropbox is much more flexible and can keep your data in sync across versions, and each platform that we offer 1Password on. :)

I hope this gets you all sorted out, but we're here if you have any further questions or concerns.
