Mini : Error Message : Launching Incorrect Version from Clone Drive
My install of 1Password is finding the version of 1Password Mini on an attached clone drive instead of the correct version. Here's the error message I'm seeing...
"The system launched an incorrect version of 1Password mini.
Instead of '/Applications/1Password.app/Contents/LoginItems' it started '/Volumes/iMac Cab Clone/_CCC SafetyNet/2014-11-22 (November 22) 10-27-05/Applications/1Password.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems'.
Please make sure you have only one copy of 1Password on your Mac."

Hi @jqspiller,
Thanks for writing in, and I'm sorry that you're having this issue. Unfortunately, for the time being, having another copy of the 1Password app visible to the system is not supported. Yosemite changed the interaction between the main app and the mini in such a way that the system can sometimes connect us to the wrong app without us being able to convince it otherwise. What I recommend you do is zip/compress any additional copies of 1Password then delete the additional 1Password.app files themselves.
I assure you that this issue bothers us greatly. We're still working on finding a solution or workaround.

I don't suppose having the additional copy/copies of 1Password on the clone is critical. They're just part of a clone backup that I run at the end of each day. I'll just tell Carbon Copy Cloner to exclude 1Password from the process, and then deal with those ramifications if a disk catastrophe happens.

Hi @jqspiller,
You're right, in your particular case... it's not critical. If the two copies of 1Password are of the exact same version (which on a clone drive they'll almost always be), then there's technically no issue at all. The problems arise when for example 1Password 5.0.2 connects to a mini from 1Password 5.0.1 where the communication protocol changed ever so slightly. This can lead to all sorts of bad scenarios. Until we can find a way to ensure it doesn't happen, we ask that you try to only keep a single version of the app on your disk, which should ensure only a single mini exists for the app to connect to.

Oh... I just realized you meant "critical" in the sense of your needs. I thought you meant "critical" in the sense of the app's needs. Whoops.

Removing 1Password from the clone copy seems to fix the problem. And if I'm forced to boot off that clone, I'm thinking 1Password will be the least of my worries at that point. Plus, I'd still have access to password info on my iOS devices. Thanks for your information.

Hi @jqspiller,
On behalf of @Rick, Thank you
If you are somehow forced to boot from your clone drive, you can always download 1Password from our website.
Thanks!
