How to remember passwords, when 1password isn't available?

it is clear that 1password helps not to store in the head a lot of credentials and it 's very comfortable to use it. But what to do when you have to login to your email or some other site from the different computer and.. you just don't know credentials (a password) you need to open it? As for me, in browser's setting i set not to keep any passwords,, so it does not sync across devices. On the one hand it is right from the security point of view, but to the other hand, - if you have some computer where it's not possible to use 1password - you just stucked with out a password you need.

What do you prefer to do in this situation?

@makutoni‌ for passwords that you must regularly type e.g. your computer login, I suggest you use Diceware to generate memorable passwords.

Now we've moved to a new keychain format, I don't know what the plans are for 1PasswordAnywhere. Maybe one of the staff can advise? However if you sync with Dropbox it still works there because the old agilekeychain format is used. You just need to use a memorable diceware password for your Dropbox account to get at the dropbox website on a strange computer.

I've also used 1PWA in the past to access my keychain from a USB stick.

    Hi @makutoni‌ and @Penelope Pitstop‌,

    Thanks for mentioning 1PasswordAnywhere, @Penelope Pitstop‌ :+1:

Personally, I have a very difficult to guess Dropbox password but memorable nonetheless. So when I am using another computer, I login to Dropbox and use 1PasswordAnywhere.

For more information about 1PasswordAnywhere, please refer to this article from our Knowledgebase.

    Hope that this helps

    Cheers!

You're welcome Rad. Can you tell us if it will be continued in future given the change in keychain formats? As I understand it the only way you can use it at the moment is on Dropbox. Is that right?

    Hi @Penelope Pitstop‌,

Thanks for getting back to us so quickly :+1:

Can you tell us if it will be continued in future given the change in keychain formats?

At the moment, 1PasswordAnywhere is only supported for the AgileKeychain format, but it is on our radar to bring support for 1PasswordAnywhere for the opvault format soon.

As I understand it the only way you can use it at the moment is on Dropbox. Is that right?

Dropbox is the most convenient way to use 1PasswordAnywhere because your data is always in sync with all your devices and because you have relatively easy access to your AgileKeychain by logging into your Dropbox account on any computer.

You can also use 1PasswordAnywhere on a USB drive, like you mentioned in your initial comment. However, you need to make sure that the AgileKeychain in question is regularity updated.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with.

    Best,

I don't know if it's viable at all for you but that's the reason I have 1Password for iOS on my iPhone, so I know all of my passwords and PINs are always with me. Of course typing them is fraught with the dangers of a typo but my vault is always accessible at least.
