Hello,

I understand a family plan will cover our macs and pcs. But I am confused...we also have ios and android devices. does this mean we have to purchase:
1. family plan
2. ios plan for each ipad
3. android plan for each phone and tablet?

Is there not an all in one plan? What is the total cost for the above?
(We currently are using roboform)

Thanks

1Password is sold on a per platform basis, so the simple answer to your question is, Yes, you need to purchase separate licenses for Mac, iOS, and Android. There isn't an all-in-one bundle.

It gets a little more complicated after that. If you buy the Mac version from the AgileBits web store, a single user license can be used by up to six family members. If you buy it from the Mac App Store, it can be installed on all computers that use the same Apple ID for software purchases. As you note, it is also eligible for Family Sharing, which means it can be used for up to six family members in the same family, so long as all use the same credit card and are members of the family group.

For iOS, the basic application is free. That may serve everyone well, but there is a Pro version that can be unlocked with an in-app purchase. In-app purchasing isn't eligible for family sharing, so each user would have to buy the pro features separately, unless all share the same Apple ID for purchases. The iOS version is universal, meaning that each user can use it on all the iOS devices they have with one purchase, again, so long as all devices use the same Apple ID for purchases.

I don't know the terms for Android. I haven't used those versions, but at a minimum, a third purchase would be needed to use it on that third platform. I'm not familiar with sharing rules from the Google Play store.

There is not an all-in-one plan. The Apple stores, at a minimum, don't provide for bundled software, even if developers would prefer to sell that way.

Given all your combinations, it's hard for me to calculate a total price, but I think I've given you enough commentary so you can figure it for your case.

    Hi @bcp,

I sincerely apologize for the confusion here. I think that @hawkmoth has done a pretty good job of explaining your options here, so I'll just briefly confirm a few things:

    • 1Password 4 for Android and 1Password 5 for iOS are both offered on a freemium basis. So, you can download for free to have basic access to your data, but there are some premium features that are available for an In-App Purchase. Depending on your needs, you might be able to get by just fine with the free versions of the mobile apps.
    • We'd love to offer more bundles to make it easier for people to use 1Password on all of their devices ... unfortunately, because the mobile apps in particular have to be sold on their respective stores, it's not really possible.

I hope that this helps, but let me know if you have any further questions, we'd be happy to help!
