Upgrade to 5 & Chrome extension stopped working
My wife and I both upgraded to 1 Password 5.0.2 and when we did the Chrome extension stopped working. It keeps telling us that we need to install version 4. This is happening on 2 different MacBook Pros and a Mac Pro. 1 Password Mini is working and it indicates it wants to work with Chrome (even asks for permission (and we give it) but it doesn't work. I tried reinstalling, deleting the extension, rebooting the computer and reinstalling the extension, and even installing the Beta version. Any help?? My wife is about to give up, but I like 1 Password and want to keep using it.

Hi @a307017
Did you by any chance upgrade from 1Password 3? You may need to uninstall an old version of the extension and I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that you have to remember to do this for every profile where the extension is. I'm sure I've heard of the error message being reported in instances where it wasn't the active profile causing the issue (just local to a specific computer of course, an account on another machine could cause this).
What may also give insight is what version of OS X and Chrome you are running. Let us know and we can continue the troubleshooting process if need be.

Yosemite OS X 10.10.1 Chrome 39.0.2171.71 (64 bit) Multiple users on the mac, but only 1 profile for the Chrome. I will try switching profiles and uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that helps.

Hi @a307017,
We've been hearing from a few users who are having trouble with the 64-bit version of Chrome. In all cases so far, it's due to a proxy interfering with communication between the browser extension and the mini. Please have a read-through our knowledgebase article on Configuring a proxy server or firewall. Does this get things behaving for you?

The proxy configuration hit the mark. I recently installed a squid proxy at the house. Thanks for the help!

Hi @a307017,
Good to hear that it's another case of the proxy issue. Looks like Chrome changed how it does network requests with the switch to 64bit. Unfortunately there's nothing much we can do about that from our side.
