How is the category of Passwords used within 1Password and what is its purpose?

    The Passwords category stores passwords you have generated in 1Password which are not linked with a specific saved login item. It's a sort of fail-safe mechanism to ensure you don't lose a password you have generated. You can empty the Passwords category of any duplicate passwords (i.e., those already saved with a login item) by going to 1P > Help > Tools > Remove Redundant Generated Passwords.

    Hi @CWilliamFox‌

    I also like to use it for things like passwords for iOS apps or even somewhere to store the password for my secondary vault (which I never use so don't remember).
