two stage login

I am running into an issue where I go to the login page and it will ask for the user id. Then upon entering the user id it will go to a SECOND page for the password. 1 Password will not handle this AT ALL. I can either create 2 logins (one with user name and a second with just the password or enter it all manually. Does 1password not have the ability to record the keystrokes used to log into a website? If you add the ability to record exact keystrokes then 1 password would see the first page and record the user name and then the enter key (or whatever key was pressed or the mouse position and button pressed) and proceed to the second page where it record the password. Then it would be a simple matter of replaying the login keystrokes to do the login.

As far as I can determine, the two stage approach (login #1 and login #2) that you implemented is the only solution. The problem is that sites like this occasionally insert an intermediate page with a randomly chosen question, e.g., "What was your first car?" or "Where were you married?"

Yeah, I have noticed that too... Oh well, maybe someday.... retinal scanners for desktop computers and logins (grin)

I can't recall what I did, it's so long ago. Probably created two pages initially, and then did some editing.

But most of my financial sites that have a two-page login I can access by a single 1PW login, though I have to invoke it twice.

That's site-dependent. I have some that work just fine with a single login entered twice and others that need a #1 and #2.

It is dependent on the site so without knowing the site in question all that can be done is point @louiewu‌ in the direction of the Creating a multi-page Login guide which does say at the bottom that if nothing else works you may have to resort to multiple Login items, one per page of the troublesome site.

Sure, I did say "most" of my sites, as I knew it was site-dependent.

My point was that even if the site login goes over two pages, you MAY be able to create a single 1PW login. You just have to play around and see what works.

Agreed. I just wanted to emphasize that fact to ensure that the OP didn't misunderstand.
