cannot install firefox extension
When I open the 1Password-4.2.5.xpi file with firefox, I get the message "looking for the 1 password app" (at https://agilebits.com/browsers/welcome.html) . looking now for 20 minutes is long enough I think.
the safari extension is installed, but Safari is functioning so poorly currently that I'd prefer firefox.

On the assumption 1P is installed and unlocked, do you have any firewall or anti-virus software which might be interfering with communication between 1P and the browser? I appreciate that may be unlikely as you have already installed the Safari extension without problem but, just in case:
- there's a knowledge base article about Sophos here; and
- there's a knowledge base article about firewall and proxy server problems here.

Hi @p8guitar Let us know if Stephen_C's suggestion helped at all and if not we'll continue the troubleshooting process.
Given it works in one browser and not another I do wonder if you've set a proxy in Firefox as that is one reasonable explanation as to what you're experiencing.
