Syncing issue with reinstall of 1Password 5
I had to reformat my Mac hard drive and reinstall everything. When I reinstalled 1Password 5 I mistakenly synced it with my older Dropbox method. I then realized I had switched to iCloud syncing more recently and the up to date data is present on my iPhone and iPad that sync with iCloud.
So I went to 1Password Preferences - Synch and Change Synching and deleted the Dropbox synch.
Then choosing iCloud synch, when I click on Synch now I get a message that "1Password found existing data in iCloud. It will be merged with your current vault." Then I click on Start Synching and I get a dialogue box that the Primary (current) vault was last modified on Oct 31, 2013, but strangely it states the Vault found in iCloud was last modified on Dec 16, 2012 (so if this is correct it is not finding the iCloud information the my iPhone and iPad are synching with). I am afraid to click the unlock and merge button for fear i will be overwriting some newer data (although the other concern is that the newer data is not in this iCloud location).
Please help me figure this out.

Hi @jon4morley
Prior to having to reformat your hard drive, were you running Yosemite and iOS 8 on all of your devices and were they all happily synching using iCloud?
I ask because iCloud changed dramatically with the release of iOS 8 and Yosemite and we make use of the new iCloud Sync in 1Password 5 (which is why it requires Yosemite or iOS 8). So if you are trying to synchronise copies of 1Password 4 with 1Password 5 over iCloud that won't work and might explain what you're seeing.
If you're running 1Password 5 for iOS on both of your devices and creating a test on each device shows up on the others then you know iCloud syncing is working properly. If that's the case what I would probably recommend is following our Starting Over guide and then point it towards iCloud. If the test items you made before sync over then you know you've got nothing to worry about.
If you have any questions or issues with any of that do please post.
