I have a Sony Google TV that I watch a lot of YouTube on. If I use the password generator to make a new Google PW is there any way to get that password to my tv without having to type it? The Play Store on the TV says 1password isn't compatible with the device.l

Hi @mdaluge, welcome to the forums! :)

It sounds like you found the 1Password extension in the Play Store. That extension is for the Mac or Windows version of Google Chrome, and requires the Mac or Windows version of the main 1Password app to be installed. So that's why it says it's not compatible with the Google TV.

If you need to enter a password on your tv, you'll need to type it. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you! If you have more questions, please let us know.

    Hi @mdaluge,

I'm sorry that we don't have a perfect solution for you here, but I do have a suggestion that will make typing your password in a little bit easier (at least while we wait for our developers to create a version of 1Password that works on your Google TV! ;) )

Have you heard of Diceware? It's a new(ish) technique for creating passwords that involves randomly selecting four or more words and using them for your password. It's a lot easier to type than the random string of characters and numbers that comes out of the password generator. You can read more about Diceware in our security guru's blog post: Towards Better Master Passwords. There's also a handy xkcd comic that describes it pretty effectively:

I use Diceware to for all passwords that I might have to remember (or type frequently), in particular my AppleIDs - which Apple seems to request frequently.

    I hope this helps!
