non-standard upgrade
Hi, I did a fresh install of Yosemite and copied over the 1Password 4 directory from ~/Library/Application Support . I also renamed the "4" to a "5" and added my new username as owner with read/write privileges in the Finder info window, and propagated it through the entire folder.
Unfortunately, the SQLite DB considers me a guest and keeps giving me the "attempt to write a readonly database" error.
Is there an easy workaround? I can read everything just fine, and this happened before changing the directory name or permissions. My licence is current for v.5.

Given the lack of a response, either Agilebits support was unable to figure this out or disinterested.
For everyone else, here's the answer I figured out:
- Do not rename the "1Password 4" directory in the ~/Library/Application Support. Even if you are using version 5, the support directory is still named "1Password 4".
- Copy both the "1Password 4" AND the "1Password" directories to the new user library folder "~/Library/Application Support"
What was missing was the .agilekeychain and other important support files in the plain "1Password" directory. I mistakenly assumed it was an old copy of the application support directory from an older version of the app, which it is not.

Hi @geodevil
Most of the support staff are in the same timezone so depending on locations you may be in a bit of a black spot. We do try and respond as quickly as we can but we do have a number of requests and queries to attend.
The
~/Library/1Password/
folder is from 1Password 3 and it's only use if running 1Password 4 or 5 is if you want 1Password to import the old vault. If that isn't the case it can be safely removed.Whenever I get a new machine (pretty rare) I like to start from a clean slate to avoid taking cruft from old installations over. When I last did this a month or so ago all I did was copy the MAS folders across and it was done. The difference might be I probably used an ExFat formatted pen drive so information such as owner weren't carried over. That might be why we experienced different results. All that should be required is to simply drag and drop though, there shouldn't be any need for the
~/Library/1Password/
folder or permissions management.0
