1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini

Had to re-install my Mac from backup and when I opened 1Password the following message appeared "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini". So the app will not open on my Mac although it does open on my iPhone

    I am assuming you are using either 1P4 or 1P5. Please try:

    1. 1P > Help > Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password mini.
    2. If that doesn't work, rebooting your Mac.

    If neither of those work please tell us what version of 1P you are using (go to 1P > About 1Password and tell us exactly what it says) and your OS X version number. We may also need to know exactly how you restored 1P from backup but let's see if any of this helps first.

    If something went awry in the restoration of the backup you could try moving the 1Password application to your Trash, rebooting and downloading a fresh copy of the application. As long as you simply drag the application to your Trash and don't use an app cleaner of any kind your vault will remain safely stored in your Library folder as the problem seems to be with the application itself and not the support files.
