Hi @vvooss,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your computer. That's never any fun!
In 1Password 5, your data will be stored in 1 of 2 locations, depending on where you purchased 1Password.
If you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store:
- Your datafile: ~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/Data/OnePassword.sqlite
- Your backups: ~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/Backups
If you purchased 1Password from our webstore:
- Your datafile: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password\ 4/Data/OnePassword.sqlite
- Your backups: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/Backups
I hope this helps you get your database back into 1Password, but if you're still having difficulties, please let us know and we'll investigate further!

It appears that the last clone backup I made must have been before the rMBP's SSD died, and with it went the data. There is a 2BUA8c******* folder in the ~Library/Containers - and strangely they also contain the User Folder contents. There is no back up in the~Library/Containers. Would the 1Password contents carry-over into a clone and be usable in the context that I find myself, now? Or, does 1Password have to be pointed to the folder structures manually?
Thanks for your help,
vvooss

Hi @vvoss,
The database could be transferred over. Worth a shot, since the alternative is to start from scratch.
What you want to do is:
- Quit 1Password and 1Password Mini. You do not want these running while we're swapping the database behind its back.
- Go in to ~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library
- Delete the Data from within that directory
- Copy ~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/Data from the clone drive to the Library directory where we just deleted the Data directory.
Restart 1Password.
I hope this works out for you. Let us know how it goes.
Rick
