1Password won't forget my 1st Master Password
I changed my Master just after I started using 1Password, but after changing it on all my installs, I still have to change it over sometimes. I don't know why once I changed it it won't stay changed.
Also the Facebook login for registration seems to be broken on these forums.

Hi @steveisaacs,
We're looking into the facebook login issue. Will hopefully be resolved soon.
As for Master Password syncing... what you're seeing could happen in some scenarios. I'm going to guess it usually happens after you use the old password on a device. There's a few ways to rectify this as workarounds until 1Password for Mac 5.1 and 1Password for iOS 5.2 are out where a bunch of Master Password syncing bugs were fixed.
Option 1: Simplest option... don't ever use the old password once you've switched a device to the new password.
Option 2: Mac sure the sync source has the new password. You can do this by disconnecting all devices from sync, and erasing data from the sync source (when you disconnect on the Mac it offers to delete data). Once that's done, change the master password on the Mac to the new password, then setup sync again. If you're using Dropbox, make sure you're saving to a new agilekeychain file. Then reconfigure all devices to sync to this sync source.
You should then be able to use the new master password on the devices.
Option 3: Wait for the next release where this stuff got a whole lot better. They should be out soon (currently in review with Apple).
Hope this helps.

Hey there - it seems to happen whenever I have to set up a new copy of 1password (restoring phone, reinstalling OS X etc) - I'm always asked for my old password (new one isn't recongnized), can't get in without the old pass. I input it, then always change it on the device to my new one - even then, the old pass seems to linger here and there (using iCloud sync BTW).

Hi @steveisaacs,
Thanks for the additional information! Since you keep running into this problem due to setting up 1Password on new or restored iOS devices or Macs, your best bet is to go with Option 2 from Rick's message. Are you using one Mac, or multiple Macs? If you use just one Mac, and it has all your latest 1Password data, you can follow these steps:
On each iOS device:
- Open 1Password and go to Settings > Advanced.
- Scroll down and tap Erase Data and Settings, then confirm you want to do that.
- When you see the message confirming the data is deleted, tap Quit.
- Restart the iOS device (hold down the power button for a few seconds and "slide to power off", then turn it back on again).
On your Mac:
- Open 1Password and go to Help > Troubleshooting > Reset iCloud Data.
- Click the button for Yes, Remove Remote Data.
- You should see a message that confirms the data was reset and sync was disabled (click OK).
- If necessary, change your master password (Preferences > Security > Change Master Password).
- Go to 1Password > Preferences > Sync, and set up iCloud sync.
- Allow iCloud sync to complete (this may take a bit longer than normal).
On each iOS device:
- Open 1Password, choose Sync existing vault, then iCloud.
- When asked for your master password, it should be the new one.
Please let us know if that works, and if you have any questions. Thanks!
