I want to use old data that was overwritten by Dropbox.

Hi @Jeffrey7, welcome to the forums!
I'm sorry to hear Dropbox overwrote some of your data. I'm not quite sure how that would happen - do you mean that it somehow replaced the 1Password.agilekeychain file in your local Dropbox folder with an older one from your Dropbox.com account?
1Password for Mac automatically makes backups of your data. You mentioned you tried the "regular backup restore" but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to. Just to make sure - when you open the 1Password app on your Mac, you can go to the menu for File > Restore, and that will open the Preferences window and show your available backups (including the date & time they were created, and the number of items). Did you try restoring from those backups? If so, what do you mean by "corrupted versions"? Was there a problem with the restore process? Did you restore from backups made prior to the problem with Dropbox?
I'm not sure why restoring from a backup wouldn't help, but you also mentioned something about "old back up stored multiple HTML files". Can you please elaborate on that? What files do you mean, and where are you seeing them? How are you able to tell they have the correct data?

HI Drew
Thanks for quick response. Specifically, my SSD became corrupted, so I couldn't open my computer from this drive. I used an older drive to reinstall the OS, and Migrate to put my programs back. But older drive had an older 1PW file on it, which got sync'd to Dropbox. The reformatted drive has a different name from the old drive, so none of the old back-ups seem to apply. My apple Time Machine won't open the old stuff, 1PW doesn't recognize any of the info from older drive. I can get into the library>application support>1 password 4> 1Password(1).html thru 1Password(204).html, then folder a, **folder **config, folder data & folder sync.
So my question is how to reconstruct 1password.agilekeychain from all that info?0 -
Hi @Jeffrey7,
I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having trouble with your computer - that's never any fun! If you're going on a backup hunt, here's where you want to be looking:
If you purchased 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store:
~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/Backups
If you purchased 1Password for Mac from the AgileBits webstore:
~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/Backups
These backups should be in a .zip format. Please let me know if this helps!

I just wanted to clear. My Time Machine back up has a ton of 1Password 2014xxx(info).1p4.zip files. Does this file contain all the data needed to restore IPW to where I was? Are any of the other files stored under DATA needed as well? i.e., OnePassword.sqlite, etc.

Hi @Jeffrey7
The backup file contains a complete copy of all the vaults you had at the time as the zip file contains your sqlite file. You will have to restore some settings and re-enable syncing but it will your restore your vaults exactly as they were at the time of the backup. You're not expected to manually unzip and place the files. Instead you want to do the following.
- Copy the backup file you want to use to somewhere easily accessible like your Desktop.
- Open 1Password and enter the preferences.
- Switch to the Backup tab and click on the Find Backup button.
- Select the backup file on your Desktop
- The backup will be added to the list and appear with the others in the Backup tab. Select it from this list and then click on the now enabled Restore button.
- 1Password will close down to restore the sqlite file. Upon launching it again it will be restored and as i was at the time of that backup.
Let us know how you get along.
