Deleting Cookies

Please bear with me, I am new to password management and have what I think
Is a simple question before I purchase 1Password.

Does 1Password (or any other password manager for that matter) rely
on cookies to function properly?

In other words, if I have been using 1Password for awhile and then
delete ALL cookies from my Mac, does that affect the operation of 1Password.
Will it still recognize the various sites and be able to use the stored passwords?

I’ve seen a number of questions related to cookies, but none (that I can see) that
answers my question.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Denny

    1Password does not use cookies.

The actual website may and most likely does. If you were to remove those cookies you would effectively be logged out. If you return to the site you will be asked to login. 1Password will be able to supply those login credentials upon that visit. 1Password does not automatically log you in on visiting the page, you must use the browser extension to tell it to log you in.

Or you can use the go an fill feature were it will open the page and automatically fill those details thereby logging you in.

  • Hi @Dennyxr,

Like thightower said, 1Password does not use cookies. Deleting cookies from your browser will not affect the operation of 1Password.
