Workgroup sharing
Sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere (I've looked, honest!).
I would like to implement a way of sharing passwords securely across a workgroup of 10 people (all using Macs; all using either Apple or Android smartphones).
My first question is about licensing. Presumably everyone needs their own licensed copy of the 1Password app installed (on both OS X and iOS/Android devices). Is there a way of buying group licences? We have a 'group' Apple AppStore account, but I'm not sure having the app installed with the same AppStore credentials is the sensible thing to do? Would it be better to get team members to use their own individual AppStore credentials?
My second question is about sharing the 1Password vault itself. Would the situation become confused if we try to share the vault via iCloud (especially if we use the same 'group' AppStore account to purchase the app)? Would we be better off using Dropbox? And if so, should the users use their own individual accounts, or is it possible (better?) to use a single 'group' Dropbox account?
Thanks for your help/advice.

Hi @majuja
I'm going to start with the syncing question first.
There really isn't a right or wrong solution here. If you want to use a single Dropbox account over all of these machines you can do that. If you need to share certain stuff with select people though then multiple Dropbox accounts would let you do this and by each person having their own account you can have that level of control. You also will need to decide if a single vault shared by everybody is flexible enough for your situation. Again, if you want to keep certain items restricted to certain people you'll want secondary vaults. Even if you have multiple secondary vaults you can still go down the route of a single Dropbox account. While people could see the existence of the secondary vaults, without the suitably strong password that you gave it they couldn't access the contents. Still, if you're sharing a secondary vault we'd probably advise individual Dropbox accounts and sharing the vaults that are required.
It doesn't even have to be individual accounts, you could have team accounts - it's kind of about deciding the level of granularity required and then adapting accordingly. Working with Dropbox would at least reduce the level of disruption should you need to change anything as iCloud has one level that it can cope with - share nothing (I'm differentiating between syncing 'your' data between 'your' devices and the sharing of data between accounts which Dropbox can do.
So I've been a little hand wavy but hopefully you get the idea that with Dropbox we can probably come up with a level that works for you.
Now to your licensing question. I'm reluctant to suggest purchasing through this group Apple ID you have as I really don't know if Apple allow this sort of thing. You're doing it but the question is, if Apple knew would they take issue with it? I could be wrong but I think your best bet would be to consider our business licensing options available at https://agilebits.com/store/business and if you have any question regarding them to email us at support+licenses@agilebits.com stating your query relates to a business site licence.
If you have any further questions do please ask.
