1Password in Safari failing for one item, but manual copy paste of password works
I began to have an issue where when I try and login to Facebook via Safari, I get a message that the password is wrong. But if I open the 1Password app and manually copy the Facebook password and paste it into Safari, it logs right in. Not sure why this is. Clearly the item is correct in 1Password, but there is an issue with the Safari extension? How to fix?

I don't know Facebook's rules for passwords, but when I've had this problem, it has turned out to be that the saved password is longer than the site permits. When that happens, autofill fails because the too-long password gets submitted and is then rejected. If I copy and paste, the field truncates the password to the maximum allowable length, which then is accepted.
So, it that is relevant, you might check to see if your saved password is too long.

THX for this message. I can explore that as a cause. I did update my password recently, and so I'm not sure that is the issue. When I updated, I used the password generator and then pasted the created password. I would have expected it to fail then as well, but this is work exploring.

Hi @tcwaters,
If the password length turns out to not be the issue, you can try manually saving a new Login for your Facebook account. Let us know how it goes! :)

I resolved this problem by,, copying the username and password, out of 1Password and saved to a text file, then I DELETED the login from 1Password. I then went to Facebook, and used the copied username and password to login, and when prompted to save as a new login, I said yes. The login has functioned properly ever since. I don't know what that suggests about the cause of the problem, but was glad the solution was so simple.
