Best way to set up 1Password (both computers working fine, but not the phone)
Situation: happily using latest v. 1Password synced via Dropbox on two Macs, both running Yosemite. The master PW is easy to type in on a standard keyboard. I have no problems with the way 1Password can be configured (e.g., does not require re-entry of master PW if computers put to sleep, but does if restarted, etc.). Great software.
But, for me, it's useless on the phone (iPhone 5, latest OS). The master PW, which works perfectly on a standard keyboard is a nightmare to enter on the phone "keyboard". My request is, can someone point me to a tutorial for best practise for how to set up a phone for was use password protected sites (like Skype) that require a PW, but have the phone set up so the master PW for 1Password does NOT have to be typed in to access? Much TIA, KL

If you have an iPhone that is capable of using Touch ID (5s or later) and have iOS 8, you can activate Touch ID in 1Password and it will open without having to use the master password. If you don't have such a device, you should be able to activate an option in 1Password to add a PIN. You can then use the PIN to open 1Password.
A couple of things to note about this, however. If Touch ID fails for some reason, you will have to reenter the master password. Same for the PIN. It only takes one failure before you have to use the master password again. And you also will have to reenter it whenever your device is restarted.
Those cautions aside, these option make the mobile keyboard much easier to tolerate for me.
If you aren't using iOS 8 and version 5 of 1Password, these answers likely won't help. I can't remember how the PIN option worked in version 4 any longer.

Hawkmoth: thank you—I have set up my iPone 5 (sadly not s!) as you suggest, and it is MUCH easier to use. I think too that I had not fully understood the relation between iOS and OS; it is all working fine now, and I have back-checked the syncing and it's fine as well. Consider this thread closed, for me and thanks for such a speedy reply.
