Is it possible to sync using wifi for a primary vault. And then sync a shared vault via dropbox, without connecting the primary vault to dropbox?

  • Hi @MGOBLUE,

Absolutely. The UI for that will be a little clearer when 1Password for Mac 5.1 ships (soon), but it's possible right now as well.

Let us know if you need a hand setting that up.

Excellent. Yes, some direction on how to get that set up would be great. A description here or a link to an article? I read the user manual and just not certain I know the steps.

  • Hi @MGOBlue,

The guides for the sync are available here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac/5/en/topic/sync

Basically, for the primary vault, you can open 1Password, go to the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Sync, turn on Wi-Fi sync for this vault.

After that, switch to your secondary vault, then head to the same area, 1Password Menu > Preferences > Sync and you can turn on Dropbox sync for this specific vault.

As long 1Password focuses on the specific vault, the setting in the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Sync will focus on the sync option for this specific vault only.

As Rick mentioned, this will be further simplified in the next major update to 1Password, which will allow you to manage multiple vaults at once instead of switching vaults manually.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you. The complication we are working with is where the secondary vault can sync with a 1Password file that is already being sync'ed with someone else's dropbox folder.

Great advice - we figured it all out by sharing a dropbox folder. 1Password continues to exceed my expectations. Looking forward to the new GUI. D
