Passwords being saved, but why?

Hello,

Could someone tell me what all of these password files are doing?

Specifically, the ones with this icon:

These automatically show up, and typically they are just passwords, but no usernames. I never specifically use them for anything and I am wondering why the randomly show up in my 1password automatically?

Can I turn this feature off?

They are a backup of generated passwords incase the extension fails to save a password for example. AFAIK no you cannot disable them. They do come in handy, and they have saved me on a couple of occasions. I for one would not turn them off, but thats just me. They should not be random and only occur when you generate a new password.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the clarification @thightower‌, I really appreciate it. I will ignore them for now. :)

    Cheers,

    Hi @mhulse,

I'm so glad to hear that @thightower's post helped you out! If you do want to clear out some of the extras, Help > Tools > Remove Redundantly Generated Passwords will remove the passwords that have already been saved into Login entries, or you can take a run through the 'Duplicate Passwords' section of our Security Audit and remove the extra passwords that way. :)
