Parental controls in OS X Yosemite creating problems
I have a new iMac Retina 5K (running OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.1). I installed 1Password 5 (Version 5.0.2 (5022007)). The computer is set up with an Admin account and one User account. 1Password opens and connects with the database on both Admin and User accounts.
The problem: I have Mac parental controls in place on the User account. So, when I run 1Password from the User account I'm getting dozens of messages that say I 1Password is attempting to access secure websites, and I'll need to add them to my approved list. Here's a screenshot:
I then have to type in my Admin name and password -- and the sites are apparently added ("Access to these secure websites is now permitted").
Unfortunately, I have to keep doing this over and over again, every time I run 1Password from the User account. Is there any way to circumvent this and still have Parental Controls on the User account?
Thanks -- hope this wasn't too confusing.

Would turning off Rich Icons (in the General tab of Preferences) solve the problem? I don't know, but it's the only place I can think of where 1PW would need to access sites that the user has not explicitly chosen. Also that URL is part of cloudfront, which would be relevant to rich icons.

Hi @rmw621
If you can add a URL instead of an IP address then adding
d2x2f6qan2kccj.cloudfront.net
should take care of all the warnings. That's the URL for our rich icon CDN. That or turning rich icons off which you can do in 1Password's preferences in the General tab (the option is titled Use rich icons).0 -
Thanks, everyone, for your help. Turning off the rich icons did work. (Unfortunately, the URL did not work. I'm not sure if this is why, but the system keeps appending an "http://" to the "d2x2f6...etc.") In any case, thanks again.
