Sharing entire vault? [Resolved]

Hello all,

I know the latest version of 1P on Mac is the "all syncing all the time" release, and it prompted me to look at using vaults for my wife and myself. I've read the docs on the site, and understand how to create them.

I'm wondering if I want to just share my entire vault, what's the easiest way to accomplish this? Move my primary vault location and she can add that vault? Create a new vault and move everything over (which means I no longer have a 'Primary')? Her need is really read-only, but I don't have a problem with her being able to edit the contents.

While there are a few things she won't have need of, it doesn't make sense to keep a primary vault of just those few things.

Helpful suggestions on accomplishing this appreciated.

Thanks,

Markie

    Hi @Markie,

In case you haven't already seen it, we have a page on our User Guide which explains how to share a vault via Dropbox: Share a vault

Although we usually recommend creating a secondary vault to share with someone else, the steps are the same if you want to share your Primary vault - you just need to share the folder in your Dropbox account that contains your .agilekeychain file. When your wife sets up 1Password on her Mac, she can choose the "I've used 1Password before" option, then choose to sync with the .agilekeychain file you shared in Dropbox.

Does that answer your questions? If you need more help, just let us know. :)

    Drew,

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the info, I had read the User Guide, but didn't know the primary could be shared directly. Thanks for connecting the bits.
