1Password 4 files compatible with 1Password 5? [Yes, 1Password 4 and 5 uses the same data structure]

Are the vaults created with with 1 password 5 compatible with 1 password 4? I have a work machine that is not approved to run Yosemite yet so I have to still use 1 password 4 on that machine. I have the need to synchronize across both machines.

Yes, absolutely. 1Password 5 is a direct update to 1Password 4 with no data format changes, so they can use the same data files. The only gotcha is the iCloud sync, they're not compatible between Yosemite and Mavericks. You'd have to stick with Dropbox or Folder Sync if you're not using iOS devices.

If we were to change the data structure, we would do a separate format rather than updating the original format. We have users using 1Password 3, 4, and 5 with the same data file.
