Auto Login by DOUBLE-CLICK of URL in "LOGIN" entry (CHROME FIREFOX)

Had installed 1Password and was testing. Seemed good - could open a "LOGIN" double click on URL and get 'auto-logged in". Was away for a few weeks ...now (Chrome has been updated) this does not seem to work. Have since registered as a 1Password user...tried reinstalling the Software and the Browser extensions for both CHROME and FIREFOX...same result.
I tried clicking the URL and in site placing cursor in USERNAME field then "CNTRL \" ----filled in USERNAME but not PASSWORD no logon
(I have tried invoking the URL and placing cursor in USERNAME field and 'AUTO-TYPE' on 1PASSWORD toolbar ..same result as previous effort.
Tried from browser selecting 1PASSWORD icon navigating to required LOGIN and selecting...VOILA..this works (both browsers)
But why does it no longer work by double-clicking URL field in LOGIN entry??

    I'm sorry you're having that problem @PBailey.

Can you tell us what version of which browser you're using, and which version of the 1Password extension is installed in that browser?

    Thanks!
