Cannot switch vaults for saving new logins

Hi,
I can manually move logins fine between vaults. But when I am using Chrome, I started a new personal login and wanted to save it in my personal vault, but it is not my primary vault. I cannot select the vault from the dropdown.

So I stopped the login altogether, and swapped the vault in my mini-player to be my personal vault. I then did the login again and the same result occurred. End result is that I cannot create new logins in my non-primary vault.

The workaround is to create them in the primary vault, and then I use the 1P app to move them to my personal vault. Is this the only way it is supposed to work or is there a problem ?

    Hi Stephen1968,

Saving new Logins in your Primary vault and then moving them to a secondary vault is certainly one option, but there's an easier way. When you're prompted to save a Login, click on the 1Password icon on the left side of the Save Login window to see a list of your vaults, and choose the one where you want to save the Login. Or you can use a keyboard shortcut in that same window to switch vaults (⌘1, ⌘2, etc). You can find more information about that in the Switch vaults when saving a Login section at the bottom of this article.

I hope that helps! Let us know if you have more questions. :)

Thanks for the response - I was clicking the wrong button, and the help article you referred me to would be great if it showed where the mouse is being clicked as there are 3 other areas to click on and clicking on the 1P icon wasn't as obvious until of course, I did it.

    Thx for your help.

    Hi @Stephen1968,

We'll pass that one but I'm glad you get there in the end  If you have any more questions do please ask.
