Can't create a vault

I've been using the 1password iOS app for ages now, really useful etc etc.

Just decided to buy the app for OSX from the App Store, and installed it, however it's telling me I already have a vault on my laptop, and is asking for a password.

I tried the master password I use on my iPhone, but this doesn't match. I then tried the steps here https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/starting-over but it still prompts me for the mystery master password, and doesn't give me the option to start over. Am I overlooking something really simple here? :(

    Hi @MXZ,

    Do you happen to sync your iOS vault using either iCloud or Dropbox? If 1Password finds that data it would indeed try to access it in the belief that it was being helpful.

    What would be helpful to know at this point is if you're currently syncing and if so to how many devices. If it's an option we could remove this sync data that is the likely culprit and create fresh data with the correct Master Password if you want to keep these devices in sync.

    When you went over that guide, I'm assuming you checked for data for both the Agile Web Store (AWS) and Apple's Mac App Store (MAS) versions. They store them in different locations due to sandboxing. Keep us informed! :smile:
