It would help if you would explain exactly what happens. Are you seeing error messages? Can you open 1P?
In any event please try this:
- Drag the 1P app to the trash (don't use any app cleaner tool, which is likely to try to delete files you need to keep).
- Empty the trash and reboot.
- Re-download and re-install 1P.
(I appreciate you say you have already tried re-downloading and re-installing but you need to follow that procedure exactly. If you do, does 1P work again? If not please provide more detailed information about what exactly happens.)

Stephen's steps should most likely solve the problem. I just wanted to add that if you're using the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you'll need to re-download it from the Mac App Store. If you're using the web store version of 1Password, you can re-download it from our download site.
As Stephen mentioned, if you still have trouble with 1Password, please let us know exactly what happens, and we can provide some more specific troubleshooting steps. Thanks!

Thanks to you both. Stephen's steps + downloading the app from the link you provided, Drew, did the trick. I'm back up and running! Now, on to figure out how to use multiple vaults - that's a feature I've been waiting for a long time.
