1Password 5.1: Dropbox folder not in home directory still an issue? [No, can use any folder paths]
Curious if with all the syncing improvements that have come to 1Password recently (thank you!!) if this post is still accurate:
Hoping I can move my Dropbox folder out of my home directory and not run into syncing issues anymore. Anyone know if using Folder Sync (instead of proper Dropbox Sync) will work as a workaround? I've searched the forums but could only find the original post (linked below) from April 2013.

Hi @link266,
I haven't found a definitive answer yet so I figure why not test it out. Can you let me know where you currently keep your Dropbox folder please. That way I can make my test as accurate to your situation as possible and report back.

Currently my Dropbox folder is in the default location (root of home directory) and the 1Password keychain is in a "1Password" folder inside the Dropbox folder (all defaults). I haven't changed the location of the Dropbox folder yet because I wasn't sure if it would cause issues with syncing.
Ideally I'd like to have my Dropbox folder (and therefore 1Password folder and keychain) on an external hard-drive (connected via Thunderbolt) that is always on and connected.

Hi @link266,
It's not a problem with 1Password 4 or 5 at all, we overhauled how Dropbox sync works in these versions and one of the reasons for that is to allow you to use any folder you want within the Dropbox folder.
The issue you're referring to is for 1Password 3 for Mac only and the Knowledge Base link you used is for 1Password 3 as well.
