The system launched an incorrect version of 1Password mini.

Instead of '/Applications/1Password 5.app/Contents/LoginItems' it started '~/Downloads/1Password 5.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems'.

Please make sure you have only one copy of 1Password on your Mac.

So do as it says. Trash the version of 1PW in Downloads. Then empty the trash and restart the computer, to make sure everything has been cleared.

Trash 1PW from the Finder, don't use any kind of third-party cleaner, as that can cause trouble.

  • Hi @tpausso,

Sorry that you've hit this issue. At this time we need users to ensure that they only have 1 instance of 1Password on their Mac. Otherwise there's no real guarantee that the system will launch the correct mini. That's exactly what you've experienced here. Instead of launching the mini in your /Applications it launched the one in ~/Downloads. In some cases this is just fine. In others this can cause crashes and other odd behavior. This is why we try to detect it and tell you where you can find the other one so that you can clean it out.

Drag the 1Password 5.app from your Downloads folder to the trash, empty the trash, restart the Mac, and you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps.

    Rick
