Getting my password date file from older version to new

I am running 3.8.22 on my iMac OS10.7.5 which I dont really want to upgrade yet because of expense of upgrading a lot of software but have installed iPassword 5 on MacBook Air running Yosemite and now fine I cannot transfer my passwords as not compatible. Is there any way round this?

    Hi @Digitalplotter,

    I assume you want to keep the two machines synchronised, would that be a fair assessment?

    If you do then the best option would be Dropbox. We could assist with transferring your 1Password.agilekeychain to Dropbox from your iMac and then synchronise a blank copy of 1Password 5 on your MacBook Air to the same location. When you tell 1Password 5 that you're an existing user with a 1Password.agilekeychain in Dropbox it will automatically populate the local vault with the contents of said .agilekeychain and set up continued synchronisation to that same place.

    What I can reassure you of is that every version of 1Password since version 3 understands and can read the .agilekeychain format so you can definitely either synchronise the two or simply transfer across, whatever you want to do. Let us know and we can detail the steps.
