Can't import .1pif or agilekeychain_zip into 1password 4
I'm stuck on Maverics unfotunately, but I can't seem to import my old passwords. I get to the point where it asks my vault password, by my correct password is rejected upon import. Any ideas?

Hi @ajbeckwith,
I'm sorry you're having trouble migrating your data to 1Password 4! Can you please elaborate on exactly what you've tried to do, and what happens? Your subject mentioned an agilekeychain_zip file. If that's a backup file from 1Password 3, you should be able to rename that file to give it a .zip extension (for example, rename it to 1Password.agilekeychain.zip) then double-click on it to unzip it. If you've set up a new vault in 1Password 4, you can use the Folder Sync option in the Sync settings to sync the data from the unzipped keychain file.
You should also be able to import from the .1pif file that you mentioned in your subject, but I'm guessing you've already tried that? If you can't import from the .1pif, and can't sync with the .agilekeychain file, it will help if you can let us know some more details:
- What happens when you try my suggestion above to sync with the .agilekeychain file?
- What happens when you try to import from the .1pif file?
- Are the .agilekeychain and .1pif files from 1Password 3 for Mac?
- If so, do you still have 1Password 3 installed on your Mac, and does it have your data?
- What steps are you taking to get to the point where 1Password 4 asks for (but rejects) your master password?
- If you still have 1Password 3 installed, does it accept your master password?
The more information you can give us about your current setup, where those files came from, and what you've tried so far, the better. Thanks in advance!

I am setting up a new mac, and could only get my hands on 1password 4 - my old was version 3 on a mac. I found my old version 3 .zip file so I may try installing that and importing there, then possibly upgrading.

Hi @ajbeckwith,
Did you try @Drew_AG's suggestion of renaming the 1Password 3 backup file? It's a standard zip file except we renamed the extension a little.
1Password.agilekeychain_zip
won't be recognised by OS X as a filetype it knows but renaming it to1Password.agilekeychain.zip
will resolve that. You can double click on the file and it will extract the1Password.agilekeychain
which 1Password 4 does understand.Of course, downloading and installing 1Password 3 (which it sounds like you were contemplating) and importing the backup will work. If you open a fresh copy of 1Password 4 (if needed you may have to follow our Starting over guide) and it discovers a copy of 1Password 3 it will import the vault.
Let us know how you get along.
